Agricultural Land Reserve and Agricultural Land Commission Input Opportunity
Recommendation
[The original staff recommendation was amended and an additional recommendation was made at the meeting as follows:]
That the Planning and Protective Services Committee recommends to the Capital Regional District (CRD) Board:
That a letter be sent to the BC Minister of Agriculture’s Advisory Committee, providing CRD input to the Agricultural Land Reserve and Agricultural Land Commission consultation process as amended to withdraw Section 3. Residential uses in the ALR in Appendix B and add a new Section 3. Residential uses in the ALR in Appendix B in the Recommended Provincial Action stating "Strengthen policy to limit the real estate/speculative value of ALR land. Consider limitations on size of residential buildings on properties in the ALR."

That a separate letter be sent to the Cabinet regarding a moratorium be placed on cannabis production in the ALR during consultation.
