Salt Spring Island Integrated Housing Strategy
Recommendation
That the Salt Spring Island Local Community Commission:
1) Endorse the Salt Spring Island Integrated Housing Strategy, attached as Appendix A as a community framework to guide collaboration among governments, housing providers, community organizations, infrastructure providers, First Nations, funding agencies, and other partners involved in housing on Salt Spring Island;
2) Confirm its support for advancing those actions identified for the Local Community Commission that are consistent with its service mandates, delegated authority, approved work plans, and annual budget processes; and
3) Direct staff to consider opportunities to support implementation of the Strategy through the Salt Spring Island Economic Development Service, advocacy initiatives, partnership development, grant programs, and future work planning, as appropriate.
