Renewable Energy Generation Proposal at Humpback PCS
Recommendation
The Regional Water Supply Commission recommends that staff:
1. Proceed to incorporate a microturbine at Humpback PCS to capture energy from the pressure reduction on Supply Main No. 3, by incorporating this work with existing capital works planned at this location;
2. Reassess the Net Present Value assumptions as estimates and quotes are updated, to verify a positive payback period remains anticipated, prior to entering a supply contract; and
3. Report back if new information becomes available to impede the viability of this initiative.
