Recommendation
[At the November 13, 2025 Salt Spring Island Local Community Commission (SSI LCC) meeting, the motion was moved and seconded. In the meeting the motion was amended to add that the motion be recommended to the Board and that initiatives also be included in the wording. The motion was postponed to the following meeting.
At the November 20, 2025, SSI LCC meeting, the recommendation was amended to remove a condition of specific allocations of funds being submitted to SGITP by the LCC and was carried as follows:]
That the Salt Spring Island Local Community Commission (LCC) recommend to the Capital Regional District Board to recommend to the Southern Gulf Island Tourism Partnership (SGITP) that a minimum of $10,000 be allocated for the 2026 year to support Salt Spring events and initiatives that enhance the visitor experience.
